Margaret
Today, there is an increase of drinking among women of all ages. Margaret, a social worker, was embarrassed to call for help because she was afraid that her clients would know she had an addiction. She also suffered from anxiety and depression. Like many women, she was able to hide her addiction — looking good on the outside while feeling awful on the inside.
Margaret was a mother and often would meet with other moms for just a glass of wine before dinner. Soon her drinking was out of control and she forgot to pick up her kids from school.
We found Margaret a treatment center where she could join a professional program for healthcare workers and completed treatment. She is now an active member of the recovery community.
